Yard Construction Manager – Lead Yard Supervision Team

About the role
Intertek is seeking an experienced Yard Construction Manager to lead and coordinate construction and fabrication activities at the yard. Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will act as the primary on‑site interface between the client, engineering, construction contractor and ModYard management, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety standards, quality and schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Yard Supervision team covering HSE, QA/QC, planning, construction, materials, preservation, contract engineering and project services.
- Oversee all fabrication activities performed by the construction contractor, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, procedures, specifications and the project schedule.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements, supervise high‑risk activities and manage permits to work and risk assessments.
- Supervise QA/QC implementation, monitoring inspections, testing, welding quality, NDT, dimensional controls and non‑conformance mitigation.
- Manage receipt, storage, handling and preservation of materials, equipment and CPI throughout fabrication and pre‑commissioning.
- Control change requests, assess impact and coordinate approved changes with stakeholders.
- Maintain regular reporting, progress control and Earned Value monitoring for transparent communication with the client.
- Support load‑out planning and execution, coordinating with Marine Warranty Surveyor and logistics for safe module shipment.
Required profile
- Technical degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Naval, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in construction or yard management, preferably in offshore, naval or oil & gas projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary supervision teams and coordinate technical disciplines.
- Experience supervising fabrication and construction activities in a shipyard or industrial yard environment.
- Strong knowledge of HSE, QA/QC, planning, progress control and change management.
- Professional level of English and willingness to work onsite in a shipyard environment.
