Trade Compliance Manager – China Operations

About the role

3M is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to lead and coordinate trade compliance activities across its Chinese sites. The role ensures full adherence to China Customs regulations, bonded‑warehouse operations, import/export controls, and related regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day trade compliance operations with a focus on bonded‑warehouse management and processing compliance.
• Develop, maintain and improve operational processes, internal controls and compliance systems for customs, FTAs, cargo security and other regulations.
• Oversee bonded‑warehouse activities including inventory control, inbound/outbound supervision, reconciliation and audit readiness.
• Ensure all operations retain required trade‑related registrations, permits, approvals and mandatory government reporting.
• Manage regional reporting, operational metrics and KPI consolidation for China/Hong Kong operations.
• Collaborate with business units, supply chain, logistics, warehouse and manufacturing teams to guarantee seamless compliance.
• Engage with government authorities on customs, bonded operations, inspections and audits.
• Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, digitalisation and cross‑functional capability building.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of trade compliance, customs or logistics experience with strong operational exposure.
• At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Authorized to work in China.
• Fluent in both Chinese and English.
