Team Lead, Account Management, SME & Growth, China

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is looking for a Team Lead for its SME & Growth account management team in China. You will lead the front-line execution of the post-sale growth engine across the SME and Growth customer portfolio, working from the Shenzhen or Shanghai office.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and scale a team of Account Managers or Customer Success Managers, driving product adoption, upsell and cross-sell, long-term retention and revenue performance.
• Turn GTM strategy into account management playbooks and use KPIs and pipeline reviews to improve team performance.
• Act as an escalation point for key customers.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Revenue Operations to turn customer feedback into product improvements, streamline customer-facing processes and mitigate churn risks.

Required profile

• Over 5 years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success or Sales, with at least 3 years in team management or direct line leadership, ideally in Fintech, SaaS, Payments or Tech platforms.
• Proven track record of leading front-line teams to hit revenue and retention targets in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Preferred: experience scaling teams in high-growth technology environments, or in fintech, payments or cross-border trade.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using data to guide team priorities, pipeline decisions and performance coaching.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management, able to engage mid-to-senior decision-makers.
• Hands-on experience in account planning, portfolio management and adoption playbooks.
• Preferred: proficiency with CRM and reporting tools such as Salesforce, Looker or SQL, familiarity with API-based payment products or complex SaaS solutions.
