Supplier Quality & Development Director

About the role

The Supplier Quality & Development Director is responsible for overseeing all quality aspects of the supplier network, ensuring that products and processes meet the company’s standards. This senior position leads supplier audits, qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Overall ownership of supplier‑related quality issues and corrective actions.
• Plan, execute, and follow‑up supplier audits and qualification programs.
• Manage project quality targets within supplier workshops and drive implementation.
• Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA) of complaints and champion continuous improvement for supplier quality.
• Develop and maintain digital tools that support supplier quality management.
• Collaborate with internal SQA and SQC teams to align quality objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a quality manager or in a comparable senior quality role within heavy industry.
• Extensive knowledge of welding, machining, NDT, material science, heat treatment, and surface treatment processes.
• Proven experience in supplier quality management, audits, and qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of 20+ members and manage projects under pressure.
• Strong logical thinking, systematic problem‑solving approach, and self‑motivation.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
