Software Development Engineer

About the role

Sonos is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Diags-Systems team in Shanghai. You will design and develop test processes and tools for low‑level drivers and firmware, collaborating closely with development and quality partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute test cases for low‑level driver development, including automation of physical interactions with units under test.
• Develop new tools and scripts to support test execution and board bring‑up, as well as manufacturing line testing.
• Triage and maintain existing automation and testbeds, and work with manual test engineers to automate repetitive test cases.
• Collaborate on reliability testing strategies for hardware/software interaction and API testing for user‑space applications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Basic proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with digital electronics, embedded systems, and low‑level communication protocols (I2C, PCIe, USB).
• Experience with Linux development, GIT, logic analyzers, and other digital test tools.
• Ability to work in English.
