Software Development Engineer

About the role

Elekta is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain mission‑critical software that supports cancer treatment planning and delivery. You will work with global engineering and support teams to ensure high‑quality, reliable solutions that enable clinicians to focus on patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to new product and feature development while improving existing systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance, scalable software for treatment planning solutions (e.g., brachytherapy).
• Analyze and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Investigate and troubleshoot customer‑reported problems, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with global engineering and support teams to ensure product quality and stability.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design, implementation, and defect analysis.
• Continuously improve development processes, tools, and engineering practices.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in object‑oriented programming and software design.
• Proficiency in C# or similar languages; full‑stack development experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and independent work capabilities.
