Senior System Analyst – Backend Java & Spring

About the role

Zurich Insurance is looking for a Senior System Analyst to design, develop and maintain insurance‑related backend systems. You will work with Java, Spring and micro‑services to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions that meet business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services, APIs and micro‑services using Java, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Collaborate with users, business analysts and product stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Manage external vendors to ensure timely delivery and alignment with specifications.
• Produce system and module designs, including API specs, data structures and implementation plans.
• Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to automation scripting.
• Perform unit, integration and system testing; drive refactoring, performance tuning and architectural improvements.
• Stay current with cloud‑native technologies, security standards and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on Java backend development and system design experience.
• Experience in financial or insurance system development is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in English (reading and writing); Cantonese is an advantage.
