Senior Legal Counsel – Greater China

About the role

As a Senior Legal Counsel you will become a strategic business partner, enabling Philips’ sustainable growth across its diverse product portfolio—from consumer electronics to medical devices. You will support the Greater China legal team and help drive compliance, risk management, and innovative business solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal support, including contract review, negotiation, business model formation, M&A projects, dispute resolution, investigations and crisis handling.
• Identify, prevent, and respond to compliance risks in anti‑trust, anti‑bribery, healthcare professional interactions, data security, privacy and export control.
• Lead cross‑functional projects, improve legal service efficiency, and ensure high‑quality legal advice aligned with business needs.
• Design, deliver and enforce compliance training and programs across the organization.
• Coach and mentor junior lawyers within the Greater China legal department.

Required profile

• Law degree (Bachelor, preferably Master) with at least 10 years of legal practice experience.
• Admission to the PRC Bar.
• Strong self‑motivation, eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English.
• Preferably a mix of in‑house and private‑practice experience in a multinational environment, with exposure to the medical‑device industry.
