Senior Legal Counsel – China

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our APAC Legal Commercial Transactions Team. You will provide essential legal support for our operations in China, advising local management and business units on a wide range of commercial, regulatory, and IP matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex technology and IP‑related agreements for China and, when needed, other APAC regions.
• Provide strategic legal advice on privacy, compliance, regulatory, and corporate law issues.
• Support sales contracting to ensure agreements align with business objectives.
• Assist with dispute resolution, litigation, and regulatory investigations.
• Collaborate with Finance, Professional Services, and Business Operations to resolve commercial and compliance challenges.
• Review and draft internal governance policies and support corporate governance initiatives.
• Conduct legal and compliance training for business teams.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer under Chinese law with 10+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Broad expertise in privacy, regulatory, corporate law, and transactional matters in Greater China.
• Proven track record in the technology sector; experience with autonomous driving, AI/ML, or cloud platforms is a plus.
• Experience negotiating complex software licensing, cloud services, and professional services agreements.
• Background in a reputable international law firm or in‑house at a global company.
