Senior Ethics & Compliance Counsel

About the role

3M is seeking a Senior Ethics & Compliance Counsel to provide expert legal guidance on anti‑corruption and compliance matters across its three business groups in China and Hong Kong. The role supports risk‑aware decision‑making, strengthens the compliance culture and ensures adherence to global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide substantive counseling on anti‑corruption, third‑party due diligence, and other compliance topics to business and functional clients.
• Draft, review and approve compliance clauses, red‑flag mitigation plans, and support the screening and selection of distributors and vendors.
• Lead the preparation of risk assessments, compliance evaluations and contribute to global and regional compliance initiatives.
• Design, deliver and monitor training programs to promote a speak‑up culture and ongoing compliance awareness.
• Participate in Business Conduct Committee activities, present metrics and drive discussion on compliance projects.
• Manage complex investigations, coordinate post‑investigation remediation and advise on employee disposition.
• Collaborate with business and functional partners to embed compliance considerations into daily operations.

Required profile

• Legal qualification with significant experience in ethics, compliance or anti‑corruption counseling.
• Proven track record of advising senior leadership on high‑risk transactions and third‑party engagements.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret compliance trends and present findings clearly.
• Excellent communication skills for training delivery and stakeholder engagement.
• Fluency in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
