Senior Account Manager - Private Equity and M&A

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Senior Account Manager to join its Private Equity and M&A (PEMA) team, a global group of risk and insurance advisors focused on private equity and alternative investment firms, infrastructure funds and strategic investors. The team covers fund-level, M&A transactional and investment portfolio risk and is expanding in Greater China, with six members across Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. The role is based in Shanghai / Beijing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients to maintain, strengthen and expand the client base.
• Build and maintain a professional network with peers and stakeholders in relevant industries.
• Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to prospective and existing clients.
• Work with insurance specialists to perform insurance due diligence for clients and financiers.
• Collaborate with insurance specialists to structure and deliver insurance solutions for M&A transactions and other client risk scenarios.
• Ensure insurance placements comply with regulations, internal policies and audit requirements.
• Support the team with ad hoc projects, analysis and tasks as required.

Required profile

• 3 to 6 years of experience in the M&A field.
• Demonstrated interest in developing in-depth insurance industry expertise.
• Willingness to network and build relationships with clients, advisors and industry peers.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
• Ability to travel occasionally as required.

Required skills

• Strong project management skills, prioritising multiple tasks and timelines.
• Comfortable presenting and pitching to advisors and clients, in person and virtually.
• Strong written communication, including drafting reports and presentation decks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration with colleagues from other departments and specialist teams.
• Independent, self-motivated and self-disciplined.
