Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

The Quality Assurance Engineer will ensure that products and packaging meet the company’s quality, safety and environmental standards across the assigned categories. You will work closely with factories in Asia, support product compliance, and drive continuous improvement in cost, reliability and manufacturability.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the quality management system to meet company and client targets.
• Coach factories on quality processes and implement best‑practice procedures.
• Provide technical support to guarantee product compliance with safety, quality and environmental regulations in destination markets.
• Visit and assess Asian factories to verify technical competence and audit readiness.
• Review third‑party audit, inspection and testing reports and initiate corrective actions.
• Minimise business risk related to product sourcing and supply‑chain quality.
• Analyse product design data for conformance, cost‑to‑design and manufacturability.
• Manage product technical data in the ERP system for assigned categories.
• Develop environmentally‑friendly, ready‑to‑shelf packaging solutions.
• Research alternative materials and production methods to optimise value.

Required profile

• Professional or technical degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of solid experience in product quality management.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
• In‑depth knowledge of British and European product safety standards and certification processes.
• Hands‑on experience with supplier, factory, CSR and ISO 9000 audits.
• Experience in process audit and process engineering.
• Proven track record in cost‑saving and value‑engineering projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
