Project Architect – Beijing

About the role

HOK is seeking a Project Architect to join its international design team in Beijing. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality architectural solutions that align with the firm’s design intent and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical system solutions and detailed architectural designs supporting project intent.
• Produce 2D and 3D design studies to identify optimal solutions.
• Lead design development, production, and delivery as the technical lead of the project team.
• Coordinate delivery strategies, work with external consultants, and supervise benchmark documentation.
• Communicate with client representatives to clarify short‑ and long‑term design objectives.
• Manage junior staff and report progress to senior architects, technical directors, and design leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of architectural experience, preferably with construction‑phase drawings.
• Registered Architect (HKIA, AIA, RIBA, PRC equivalent) required.
• Strong knowledge of architectural construction methodology and building systems.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• US project experience preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred; LEED AP or GA required within 12 months of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Demonstrated ability to create technical design solutions.
