Product Quality & Reliability Engineer – Optical Sub‑Assembly

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Product Quality & Reliability Engineer focused on optical sub‑assembly. You will develop and maintain quality and reliability standards, ensuring they meet customer expectations and support the company’s semiconductor and display equipment portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, apply, revise, and test quality and reliability standards, including inspection, testing, and evaluation methods.
• Create and execute quality/reliability test plans, perform failure analysis, and conduct FMECA with documented CRAMS.
• Collaborate with suppliers to implement PQP testing and reliability modeling, gathering operational data for analysis.
• Prepare testing documentation, propose project methodologies, and evaluate procedures to achieve world‑class quality.

Required profile

• Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in the discipline and broadens capabilities across display and lamination technologies.
• Understands key business drivers and applies this insight to accomplish work effectively.
• Provides informal guidance and mentorship to new team members.
