Procurement Specialist – Manufacturing & Energy

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will manage end‑to‑end purchasing activities for Hitachi Energy’s Transformer Business Unit in Greater China, supporting the production of high‑voltage transformers for power generation, transmission and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑to‑end procurement processes, including requisition review, supplier selection, negotiation and contract finalisation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, monitor performance and conduct regular evaluations.
• Identify cost‑saving and efficiency opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, finance and other internal teams to understand material and service requirements and ensure timely delivery.
• Conduct market research to source new suppliers and innovative products aligned with company objectives.
• Resolve supplier issues, discrepancies and disputes professionally.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, databases and reports.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, ethical standards and internal procurement policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain roles, preferably in manufacturing or energy.
• Proven negotiation abilities and experience managing supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems such as SAP.
• Experience using Oracle ERP solutions.
• Good command of Microsoft Office for reporting and analysis.
