Procurement Professional

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY (CHINA) LTD., part of Hitachi Energy's Transformer Business Unit in Greater China, is looking for an experienced procurement professional in Hefei. The role leads and manages the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories, working with engineering, manufacturing and finance teams to meet project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation and contract management.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies focused on cost reduction, quality improvement and supply chain optimization.
• Conduct market research and spend analysis to find new sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers in line with company policies and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure procurement meets project needs.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage vendor relationships and drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings and market trends to management.
• Ensure compliance with ethical procurement practices, internal regulations and external requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain management, preferably in a large multinational corporation.
• Proven track record of negotiation and contract management.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM or CIPS are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g. SAP Ariba, Oracle).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
