Principal – Business Development & Market Build (China)

About the role

As a Principal leading Business Development and Market Build for dss+ in China, you will be responsible for establishing the firm’s presence in one of the world’s most dynamic markets. You will combine consulting expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset to create new revenue streams and deliver large‑scale operational excellence programmes for industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Drive 0→1 business development in China, building a pipeline of new opportunities and contributing to revenue growth.
• Lead consulting teams to deliver multi‑disciplinary operational excellence programmes for asset‑intensive sectors such as chemicals, steel and manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain senior client relationships across target industries, positioning dss+ as a trusted partner.
• Oversee project execution to ensure high‑quality delivery, measurable impact and client satisfaction.
• Coach and mentor consulting staff, fostering capability development and high performance.
• Contribute to thought leadership and market positioning through insights and industry engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in management consulting with a strong commercial focus.
• Demonstrated success in building client relationships and generating revenue in China’s industrial sector.
• Track record of leading complex consulting engagements and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Deep understanding of operational challenges in asset‑intensive industries.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously and shape market entry.
