Principal Auditor – Regulatory Audit China

About the role
As a Principal Auditor in the Regulatory Audit China team of Group Internal Audit (GIA) at Swiss Re, you will work in an agile, self‑organising environment delivering high‑quality audit work across Swiss Re’s Chinese operations. You will provide independent assurance to the Board of Directors, manage regulatory deliverables, and influence risk culture at the senior level.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver end‑to‑end local regulatory audits, ensuring timely and impactful outcomes.
- Identify control weaknesses and process gaps, and propose pragmatic, commercially sound recommendations.
- Apply GIA methodology consistently across all audits.
- Support compliance with Chinese insurance regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and communicate complex findings clearly while maintaining independence.
- Contribute to risk assessments to shape audit scope and priorities.
- Utilise data‑driven auditing techniques, including data analytics and AI use cases, throughout the audit lifecycle.
- Participate in wider GIA initiatives and projects, bringing innovative ideas to improve audit practices.
Required profile
- Relevant work experience in audit, risk assessment, or regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and structuring abilities to assess complex circumstances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present concise findings.
- Collaborative mindset and proven negotiation skills to drive effective solutions.
