Planning Engineer – Manufacturing Processes

About the role

The Planning Engineer will support the manufacturing plant in Qingdao by planning production processes and equipment investments. Working closely with the production, maintenance and purchasing teams, you will ensure that new machines and tools are introduced smoothly and meet Bosch’s quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan manufacturing processes and equipment (MAE) based on VPA and production plans.
• Prepare requisition orders for purchase or service and manage pre‑ and final acceptance of new machines.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation such as FMEA, control plans and work instructions in line with RBCD policy.
• Implement Bosch Production System concepts from the planning phase and apply quality tools (SPC, Poka‑Yoke, PDCA, QAM) in the workshop.
• Coordinate cost‑reduction, quality‑improvement and customer‑satisfaction projects.
• Support spare‑parts planning, define consumables and gauges, and assist maintenance during audits.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in planning or manufacturing in a high‑volume environment.
• Good command of English (German optional) and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience using Power BI or similar digital tools.
• Knowledge of quality methods such as FMEA, SPC, Poka‑Yoke and PDCA.
• Understanding of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing concepts.
