Mechanical Designer

About the role

We are hiring a Mechanical Designer in Shenzhen to develop the hardware structures that make our collection devices functional, including enclosures, mounts, wearability solutions, thermal management, and tooling for high‑volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of collection devices: enclosures, mounts, stack‑ups, fasteners, gaskets, and ensure durability on job sites.
• Create CAD models, detailed drawings, and tooling specifications while applying DFM/DFA principles.
• Collaborate with PCB engineers on keep‑outs and connectors, and with industrial designers on form and wearability.
• Validate designs through drop, shock, and field testing; iterate with factories to improve yield and reduce rework.
• Translate industrial design concepts into manufacturable parts using plastics, sheet metal, or other processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience shipping mechanical parts to manufacturing, including CAD modeling, drawing creation, vendor management, and design revisions.
• Strong understanding of DFM/DFA and of high‑volume plastics or sheet‑metal production.
• Ability to work on‑site in Shenzhen and in factory environments.

Required skills

• SolidWorks or Onshape (or equivalent CAD tools)
• DFM and DFA methodology
• Knowledge of plastics and sheet‑metal manufacturing processes
• GD&T principles
• Injection molding basics
