Pigment and Paste Lab Intern

About the role

This internship supports the Pigment and Paste Laboratory in Shanghai, ensuring that all paste‑related activities run smoothly and safely. You will work under established BCTS/BSC guidelines, applying basic chemistry and coating technology knowledge while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health‑and‑safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with paste evaluation according to the test matrix.
• Prepare paints and conduct tests such as color, pH, viscosity, solid content, fineness and cleanliness measurements.
• Support sample preparation for external analysis.
• Monitor paint spray operations and follow SOPs strictly.
• Perform raw‑material handling and sampling tasks.
• Ensure all laboratory activities comply with BASF EHS standards and 5S principles.
• Complete additional tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.

Required profile

• College education or higher.
• Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a coating department.
