Phaco Development Specialist

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Phaco Development Specialist to support surgeons and hospitals in adopting Phacoemulsification as the primary technique for cataract surgery. You will work closely with the Phaco Development team, providing hands‑on training, wet‑lab instruction, and on‑site support to ensure successful conversion from ECCE/SICS to Phaco procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and select target trainees and hospitals to maximize conversion rates.
• Deliver OR and wet‑lab training on Phaco techniques, including the use of Alcon’s Centurion system and related disposables.
• Coach field sales and internal personnel on product usage, surgical protocols, and professional conduct.
• Provide academic support to key opinion leaders and build expert networks.
• Document training outcomes, generate reports, and ensure compliance with Alcon’s administrative procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cataract surgery or surgical training environments.
• Strong knowledge of Phacoemulsification and related technologies.
• Ability to travel to multiple sites and conduct on‑site instruction.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
