Offshore Machinery Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Offshore Machinery Engineer to review ship design drawings, ensure compliance with IMO, classification society rules and national regulations, and provide pre‑contract services to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Review and examine ship design drawings against the latest BV rules, IMO regulations and classification society standards.
• Provide pre‑contract technical services and liaise with clients to resolve technical issues during construction.
• Assist BV surveyors, maintain and update BV rules, regulations, notes, codes and related software.
• File and preserve approved drawings, calculation sheets and related documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Systems or related engineering fields.
• Strong knowledge of IMO regulations, classification society rules and national maritime regulations.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in reviewing ship design drawings and performing related calculations.
• Experience with BV software and other maritime engineering tools.
• Understanding of machinery equipment design and production.
