MS Learning Support Teacher

About the role

The Middle School Learning Support Teacher works closely with the Learning Support Coordinator and the Head of Department to provide targeted assistance to students identified through the Child Study team process. This role blends in‑class support with pull‑out programmes, fostering inclusive learning environments for middle‑school learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and group support to students as part of the Child Study team recommendations.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers during planning sessions to design differentiated lessons.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and participate in parent‑teacher conferences.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and broader school development initiatives.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.

Required profile

• Strong ability to build effective relationships with staff, students, and parents.
• Excellent oral and written communication, especially for ESOL families.
• Empathy for second‑language acquisition and experience working with less‑able learners.
• Solid understanding of inquiry‑based teaching, special education theory, collaborative planning, and differentiation strategies.
• Recent experience as a learning support teacher within an MYP framework, preferably with middle‑school students.
