Mechanical Design Engineer – Wheel Speed Sensor

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of wheel speed sensor (WSS) components for our automotive customers. The role is based in Chengdu and involves translating customer requirements into robust mechanical solutions while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer design requirements for wheel speed sensors, develop technical proposals and secure design fixation.
• Perform mechanical and structural design, including 2D drawings, 3D models, BOM creation and DRBFM analysis, following platform guidelines and customer specifications.
• Conduct technical reviews and maintain effective communication with customers.
• Collaborate with plant and tooling teams throughout project development.
• Support production and quality departments in failure analysis and problem solving.
• Assist supplier development by providing component drawings and participating in TLG meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product mechanical design.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as UG and CATIA.
• Experience with FMEA and DRBFM methodologies.
• Knowledge of tolerance stack‑up analysis and air‑gap calculations.
