Logistics Specialist

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support its global import and export operations. You will work closely with internal teams and external freight partners to ensure smooth, compliant, and timely movement of goods across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Handle logistics operations for import and export orders, including booking transportation and coordinating with freight forwarders.
• Prepare and review logistics documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Track shipment status, manage exceptions, and maintain accurate data in the SAP system.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, and Project teams to guarantee successful shipment execution.
• Maintain the customs handbook, ensuring timely preparation and verification before expiration dates.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in international logistics, import/export, or related operations.
• Strong communication skills in English and a high sense of responsibility.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with sea‑freight, air‑freight, railway transport, and customs clearance procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using SAP for logistics data management.
