Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Logitech's Personal Work Space (PWS) division is hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer for its China for China (C4C) team in Suzhou. You will lead the mechanical engineering system innovation, design and development of evolutionary-type C4C products, reporting to the Mechanical Team Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ME technology scouting and development: identify customer needs, build a technology roadmap, align stakeholders and scout and develop the technology.
• Develop new C4C products as ME lead, through feasibility studies, concept and architecture design, risk analysis and verification to meet or exceed project goals, costs and schedules.
• Act as a consultant on hardware specification, design and issue investigation.
• Facilitate collaboration with suppliers and customers on product engineering specifications, design, prototyping and qualification for mass production.
• Collaborate with PM, Electrical, Optical, Acoustic and other functions in the C4C team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Material Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in product design and development of high-volume consumer electronics, covering ME and CMF.
• 2+ years as a technical leader defining, planning and monitoring technical or NPI projects.
• Good spoken and written English.

Required skills

• 3D and 2D CAD, including geometrical tolerance knowledge.
• Plastic and metal parts ME structure: strength, tolerancing, joining, reliability, drop tests and vibration.
• CMF development and sustainable materials, processes and technologies.
• Design validation: tolerance analysis, statistical analysis, FEA, FMEA, prototyping, failure analysis, 8D/PDCA/DMICA, DOE.
• Mechanism design, electro-mechanical integration and PCB mechanical design.
• Coaching junior engineers and managing ME crises.
