Lead Design Engineer – Thermal Management Systems

About the role

Bosch Group is seeking a Lead Design Engineer to drive the conceptual design of Hydraulic Power Units (HPU) and Fluid Thermal Units (FTU) for thermal management solutions. The role is based in Shanghai and works onsite with a joint development team at UAES.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept designs for HPU and FTU, including requirements breakdown and component matching.
• Design coolant manifolds, refrigerant manifolds, and tanks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate thermal management modules into customer projects.
• Lead the base‑design development and its direct application in customer projects.
• Assume full technical ownership after onboarding and support an international team deploying solutions globally.

Required profile

• Degree in Energy Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum two years of experience in thermal‑management product development.
• Strong knowledge of thermal‑management sub‑components, system architectures, requirements and performance specifications.
• Familiarity with testing and validation methodologies for thermal systems.
• Proficient English (spoken and written); German is a plus.
