International Academic (EAP) - China

About the role

The Australian Institute of Future Education (AIFE), a TEQSA-accredited higher education provider, is looking for experienced English for Academic Purposes (EAP) educators to join its international academic team in China. You will help university students develop the academic English needed for international study pathways, within a co-teaching model that pairs international academics with local Chinese educators.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver EAP curriculum to undergraduate students (Years 1-3)
• Support students' academic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
• Run tutorials and student engagement activities, including English Corner sessions
• Help students prepare for AIFE's Direct Entry Program (DEP)
• Co-teach with local academic staff
• Take part in academic research and professional development
• Work with academic teams to ensure effective curriculum delivery and student outcomes

Required profile

• Eligibility for a Chinese Z visa
• Recognised TESOL, TEFL or CELTA qualification (minimum requirement)
• Master's degree (minimum requirement)
• At least three years of EAP teaching experience, preferably in higher education
• Strong student engagement and classroom management skills

Required skills

• Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Collaborative and adaptable approach to teaching
