Intelligent Testing Equipment Engineer – Powertrain Systems

About the role

The Intelligent Testing Equipment Engineer will provide reliable measurement technologies and efficient test solutions for powertrain performance and endurance testing at Bosch Powertrain Systems in Wuxi. The role focuses on troubleshooting, quality verification, and maintenance of test benches and equipment while driving automation, digitalisation and AI improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving for test systems and equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance, upgrades, modifications and commissioning of powertrain and component test benches.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, define safety stock levels and ensure equipment availability within defined downtime limits.
• Develop and maintain working instructions, maintenance schedules and quality traceability plans.
• Implement automation, digitalisation and AI concepts to improve test‑lab efficiency, cost and quality.
• Organise periodic calibration of measuring instruments and handle non‑conformance events.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, customers and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Observe laboratory EHS requirements and verify equipment safety interlocks.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Measurement Technology or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and continuous quality improvement.
• Experience with test‑bench hardware and software setup, upgrade and release processes.
• Ability to manage spare‑parts inventory and ensure high equipment utilisation.
