HS MYP & DP Spanish Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an energetic and inspiring teacher to deliver Spanish instruction to High School students in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) at Western Academy of Beijing. The role involves implementing the curriculum, assessment and reporting processes while fostering an inquiry‑based learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver MYP and DP Spanish units in line with the IB framework and school curriculum.
• Design and implement assessment strategies, record grades and produce reports.
• Collaborate with the Languages Head and fellow teachers to develop common unit plans and share best practices.
• Differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning styles, including support for ESOL students.
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents and colleagues, and participate in school‑wide improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field and a recognized teaching qualification.
• Minimum two years of post‑qualification teaching experience, preferably in MYP or IBDP settings.
• Experience working with ESOL learners is an advantage.
• Commitment to the school’s mission, values and community life.
• Willingness to engage with the local Chinese context and adhere to parent‑communication agreements.
