HR Generalist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to act as the dedicated HR representative for UBS CL in China. The role provides end‑to‑end HR advisory support to line managers and employees while ensuring compliance with local governance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on HR queries, employee lifecycle matters and workplace topics to line managers and staff.
• Support core HR processes including performance management, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, internal mobility and workforce planning.
• Partner with business leaders on restructuring, transition activities, staff communications and internal hiring.
• Deliver HR governance, regulatory and audit deliverables such as policy compliance, consequence management and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with specialist HR functions (ER, EL, Reward, Recruiting, Talent, HR Operations, Legal) and regional/global SMEs.
• Handle confidential employee matters and regulator‑facing HR requirements with professionalism.

Required profile

• Solid HR advisory experience, preferably within a regulated financial institution or complex professional‑services environment.
• Strong understanding of China employment practices, HR governance and regulatory expectations.
• Excellent judgement, stakeholder management and ability to handle sensitive confidential issues.
• Proven ability to work in a matrix organization and act as a trusted interface between business and HR specialists.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Chinese labor law and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with performance management, compensation, benefits and talent acquisition processes.
• Familiarity with HR governance, audit and regulatory reporting.
