Functional Safety Engineer

About the role

OPmobility is looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to lead safety activities throughout product development. You will ensure that functional safety requirements are defined, implemented and verified in line with ISO 26262, supporting the delivery of safe, high‑quality mobility solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute functional safety activities according to the product development schedule and ISO 26262.
• Conduct Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), FMEDA and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to derive safety requirements.
• Define functional safety requirements at functional, technical, hardware and software levels.
• Collaborate with system, software, hardware and validation teams to guarantee compliance with safety standards.
• Support suppliers in implementing functional safety concepts and maintain safety deliverable checklists.
• Develop and share functional safety knowledge across the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Software, Systems, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of functional safety experience in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and functional safety lifecycle processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, fluent in English.
