Fleet Safety and Performance Coach

About the role

The Fleet Safety and Performance Coach will develop and sustain a high‑performing safety culture across V.’s vessels. Based in Shanghai, the role involves sailing with ships worldwide, delivering training, conducting inspections and supporting HSE initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Promote the “Safety is for me” culture and embed V.Group core values onboard.
• Conduct training needs analysis, deliver onboard training, drills and safety courses, and submit training reports within two days of disembarkation.
• Identify hazardous conditions and work practices, advise crews on risk reduction, and assist in implementing safe solutions.
• Carry out ship safety inspections and audits (navigation, environment, engine, pre‑vetting, internal), noting deficiencies and recommending corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations under HSE Group direction and monitor compliance with company policies during critical operations.
• Facilitate HSE campaigns, encouraging active participation from all onboard personnel.

Required profile

• Willingness to travel extensively worldwide and work weekends as required.
• Ability to sail with vessels and operate effectively in an onboard environment.
