Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist - Expense Management

About the role

ABB is looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist focused on expense management to join its Marketing & Sales Finance organization. The role reports to the Senior Marketing Sales & Service Finance Manager and supports group management and stakeholders in decision-making, including the evaluation of major investment decisions. It contributes to the ELSB, ELSP Marketing & Sales Finance organization across all geographies. The work model is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze the group's financial results in the area of responsibility and coordinate management reports such as performance reports and commentaries on financial statements, on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Evaluate the impact of strategic, financial or other major investment decisions.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, working closely with Global Business Lines and countries to monitor, analyze and interpret results and evaluate business alternatives.
• Support the implementation of standardized processes and tools for financial planning.
• Lead spending analysis across global marketing and sales organizations, including controlling responsibilities for various global functions under Marketing and Sales.
• Follow up with reporting units and countries on inconsistencies found in management reporting.
• Contribute to FP&A initiatives for Marketing & Sales Finance, and lead process improvement and cost-saving initiatives to protect and increase division profitability.
• Support excellence in financial controlling, share knowledge and best practices within the Finance community, and report to the Marketing Sales Finance Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field; a master's degree in finance or a related field is listed as well.
• At least 8 years of experience in accounting, finance or related areas.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial analysis and performance management.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, continuous improvement mindset focused on process optimization and standardization.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
