Engineer, Product Design

About the role

As an Engineer, Product Design you will translate customer requirements into manufacturable products, creating CAD models and detailed drawings while ensuring reliability and cost‑effectiveness. You will work closely with sales, tooling, and manufacturing teams to deliver high‑quality connector solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer design requirements from marketing, sales, or drawings.
• Perform preliminary feasibility studies and create CAD models, engineering drawings, and design specifications.
• Conduct design reviews for manufacturability and release final specifications for tooling.
• Develop test plans for product reliability and support tooling engineers with first‑article inspections.
• Approve or reject product deviation requests and review verification samples and test reports.
• Provide design support for product modifications, extensions, and manufacturing process improvements.
• Respond to customer complaints related to design and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallic Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in terminal and connector design.
• Strong knowledge of product design for stamping and plating processes.
• Fluent English communication skills (reading, writing, listening).
• Professional attitude, accountability, and ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software for drafting and modeling (NX/UG preferred).
• Experience in terminal design and manufacturing, including stamping and plating.
• Understanding of metal materials and plating processes.
• Design problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D, DFMEA, and tolerance analysis.
• Familiarity with Fusion application practice and sheet‑metal design.
