Customer Support Technician – DDP

About the role

The Customer Support Technician – DDP will provide on‑site technical support for Applied Materials systems in Chengdu, ensuring equipment uptime and customer satisfaction through preventive and remedial maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily work schedules for preventive and corrective maintenance within the assigned territory.
• Perform periodic maintenance (daily to annual) and wet‑clean procedures on systems.
• Instruct customers on operation and maintenance, and troubleshoot process variations with senior engineers.
• Manage start‑up, warranty, paid service, and service‑contract activities, including Tier II and Tier III start‑ups.
• Serve as liaison between Applied Materials and customer front‑line management for technical and administrative matters.
• Track equipment performance, implement productivity improvements, and apply Statistical Process Control and Quality Improvement Process methods.

Required profile

• Physically able to walk, stand, bend, squat, twist, kneel, climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 35 lb.
• Comfortable working in clean‑room environments using PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields.
• Good communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams.
