Automotive Software Architect

About the role

Qualcomm’s Automotive team is looking for a seasoned Software Architect to lead the design of SoC‑based Linux solutions for next‑generation automotive infotainment, ADAS and autonomous driving platforms. The role bridges hardware and software, translating system requirements into robust, scalable Linux architectures for global automotive customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive the architecture, design and development strategy for Linux‑based automotive SoC platforms.
• Provide technical leadership on Linux platform architecture, boot‑loader, kernel and Yocto integration for AI‑driven scenarios.
• Collaborate across hardware, software and external partner teams to define unified software interfaces and low‑power debugging frameworks.
• Design and implement complex software subsystems, including kernel, boot loader and Yocto‑based build environments.
• Review detailed designs, make implementation recommendations and ensure compliance with ASPICE, functional safety (FuSa) and cybersecurity standards.
• Participate in cross‑functional meetings, communicate architectural decisions internally and externally, and evaluate feasibility and prioritisation of requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of embedded software development experience on ARM‑based systems.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale Linux solutions for automotive or related industries.
