Associate Manager, Safety Data Management – China Lead

About the role

The Associate Manager, SDM China Lead will oversee safety case management, medical coding and ICSR operations for MSD in China. This senior position drives operational excellence, ensures regulatory compliance and leads a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality safety data.

Key responsibilities

• Manage ICSR case management and encoding teams, ensuring operational readiness, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee coding and vocabulary governance, harmonising terminology across programs and approving high‑impact dictionary changes.
• Monitor performance metrics, support audit and inspection readiness, and drive continuous improvement of safety data processes.
• Provide people management – set objectives, conduct reviews, coach staff and develop career plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (or Master’s/Doctorate) with at least 8 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in a biopharmaceutical company.
• Demonstrated people‑management experience in a matrix environment.
• Deep expertise in pharmacovigilance, medical coding and safety data analysis.
