Assistant Manager – Supply Chain

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Supply Chain is a supply chain leader responsible for end‑to‑end strategy and execution of a product portfolio. Based in Shanghai, the role drives supply reliability, cost‑to‑serve optimization and launch readiness while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Own regional S&OP/IBP execution: coordinate demand inputs, supply commitments, capacity planning and executive escalation for constrained SKUs.
• Manage inventory and working capital: optimize safety stocks, reduce obsolescence and oversee consignment/field‑stock models where applicable.
• Drive launch readiness: define supply plans, staging, buffer strategies and allocation for new product introductions and market rollouts.
• Lead supply risk management: implement single‑source mitigation, critical supplier engagement, dual‑sourcing strategies and expedited logistics plans.
• Oversee distributor and 3PL relationships: monitor performance KPIs, contractual SLAs, returns/recall processes and special handling requirements.
• Partner with Quality & Regulatory: ensure import/export controls, lot traceability, recall preparedness and compliance impact on supply continuity.
• Implement process improvements and digital initiatives to enhance planning cadence, transparency and decision‑making.
• Represent supply chain in global forums, contributing to network design, capacity allocation and supplier selection decisions.
• Serve as system expert for SAP and upstream planning systems, supporting upgrades, testing and implementation.

Required profile

• Supply chain leader with experience managing end‑to‑end strategy and execution for a product portfolio.
• Proven ability to collaborate with Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality & Regulatory, Procurement, Planning and Global Supply Chain teams.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills to optimize inventory, working capital and launch readiness.
• Leadership capability to manage distributor and 3PL relationships and represent supply chain in global forums.

Required skills

• SAP (system expertise)
