Assistant Manager, Regional Trainer

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Regional Trainer will develop and deliver technical training solutions for BASF, its distributors and customers across the Asia‑Pacific region. The role focuses on implementing training packages that support BASF’s coating business and enhance technical know‑how among field staff.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy Global Training Solution packages tailored to APAC market requirements for internal and external audiences.
• Implement product and colour services training for the Coating Business (BCG) in targeted Asian markets.
• Design and execute development plans for National Head Trainers and Primary Trainers, including coaching on best‑practice educational methods.
• Provide technical skill development for customer‑facing staff (BASF, distributors, importers, third‑party service providers) to improve efficiency and product usage.
• Co‑manage with Process Solutions the development and adaptation of repair processes for BCG products.
• Continuously expand market knowledge and maintain expertise in product, process, and knowledge‑transfer methodologies.

Required profile

• University degree.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese; additional Asian languages a plus.
• Formal accreditation in refinish paint application or related trade qualifications.
• Minimum 5 years experience in automotive refinish technical training.
• Train‑the‑Trainer certification.
• Ability to work autonomously within a matrix organization and understand financial concepts.
