Assistant Function Development Engineer – Pre‑Research

About the role

The Assistant Function Development Engineer will support the front‑end innovation and pre‑development process for new medical device functions. You will translate commercial and design specifications into functional prototypes, verify physical principles, and ensure product quality and manufacturability.

Key responsibilities

• Translate commercial, functional and design specifications into new functions, processes or innovative products.
• Identify and apply physical principles to deliver user benefits, develop verification methods and oversee testing.
• Develop methods to characterize and optimise functional parameters and verify clinical efficacy of technology demonstrators.
• Safeguard functionality, performance, quality, reliability and manufacturability of products.
• Generate and maintain knowledge in dynamic mechanical systems, fluid dynamics or electromagnetics and share it across departments.
• Collaborate with market communication, advertising agencies, RA and QA to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in system architecture, system design, hardware engineering or related fields.
• Experience with consumer or medical devices is preferred.
