Asia GWAM Data Engineer

About the role

Manulife is seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join the Global Wealth & Asset Management (GWAM) Asia Data Project. The role works closely with stakeholders in Canada and across Asia to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions that support business and analytics initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support data pipelines and integrations across multiple source systems using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Spark, Python, and SQL.
• Maintain the Enterprise Data Lake, monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize processing efficiency.
• Conduct proof‑of‑concepts for new technologies, investigate production incidents, and support change requests.
• Collaborate with business, technology, and data teams across Asia and Canada in Agile delivery ceremonies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Software or Platform Engineering.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English and ability to work in a global, multicultural team.
