About the role
The United Nations Resident Coordinator System (RCS) in China is seeking a motivated Administrative Intern to join its Beijing office for a six‑month, full‑time, unpaid internship. The role offers a unique opportunity to observe and support the coordination of UN agencies at the country level and to gain hands‑on experience in administrative, HR, finance and procurement processes.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with daily office operations and logistical support for events and conferences.
- Support human‑resources tasks such as documentation handling and staff reimbursements.
- Help manage inventory, asset verification, and office supplies.
- Provide administrative aid for staff travel arrangements and drafting of letters.
- Conduct market research, draft analysis and evaluation reports, and perform quality‑check procedures for procurement activities.
- Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the Administrative Assistant in line with the internship learning objectives.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a graduate programme.
- Strong interest in international development and the United Nations system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
