About the role
Wati is seeking a Software Engineer I to develop and maintain the backend services and APIs that power its SaaS platform for WhatsApp Business solutions. You will work closely with product, frontend and mobile teams to deliver new features and ensure high reliability and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs supporting Wati’s SaaS and WhatsApp Business products.
- Collaborate with frontend, mobile and product teams to implement new features and improvements.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and system design discussions.
- Debug, troubleshoot and optimise performance across services.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes and overall development workflow.
- Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and propose enhancements for scalability and reliability.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in backend or full‑stack development.
- Strong problem‑solving attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Required skills
- Backend development with C# or Go (Golang).
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Version control using Git.
- Cloud deployment on AWS, GCP or Azure.
