Senior Vice President – Export & Agency Finance (China ECAs)

About the role

The Senior Vice President will lead the Export & Agency Finance franchise within Global Transaction Banking, focusing on transactions backed by Chinese Export Credit Agencies. Based in Beijing, the role combines origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of high‑value ECA‑supported deals across Greater China and the wider APAC region.

Key responsibilities

• Originate, structure and execute inbound, outbound and intra‑APAC transactions backed by Chinese ECAs, including buyer and supplier credits.
• Manage deals end‑to‑end – from client pitching and proposal preparation to credit approval, documentation and execution.
• Maintain and expand relationships with major exporters, importers, local banks and SINOSURE contacts.
• Collaborate with Santander’s coverage teams and APAC regional office to source and distribute EAF opportunities.
• Provide input to credit proposals, coordinate with risk, legal and compliance teams, and oversee the credit approval process.
• Mentor junior staff, share market intelligence and contribute to the strategic growth of the APAC EAF franchise.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in export and agency finance, particularly with Chinese ECAs.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross‑border transactions and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives.
• Willingness to travel up to 30‑40% of the time across Greater China and APAC.
