Senior Production Scheduler

About the role

The Senior Production Scheduler will manage daily dispatching, sequencing and material flow on the shop floor, ensuring timely order fulfillment and optimal work‑in‑process levels.

Key responsibilities

• Execute shift‑based dispatching of work orders to each work centre and adjust sequences in real time based on machine availability, material shortages and urgent customer orders.
• Coordinate internal material movement with warehouse and logistics teams to move finished goods to shipping staging areas and ensure on‑time handover to outbound logistics.
• Apply priority rules such as FIFO, ASAP and customer promise dates to re‑sequence jobs dynamically and communicate changes immediately to production teams.
• Provide field feedback to master planners on schedule feasibility, actual run times and bottlenecks, assisting in refining daily master schedule slices.
• Conduct daily walk‑throughs of WIP inventory, identify aged or stalled items and coordinate rework, scrap or transfer actions to keep WIP at target levels.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred but not required.
• At least 4 years of experience in production scheduling, shop‑floor coordination or material control within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to spend 33%+ of working time on the shop floor, walking, standing and interacting with production staff.

Required skills

• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
