Senior Marine Electrical Engineer

About the role

Anemoi is developing Rotor Sail technology to reduce fuel consumption and emissions for ships. The Senior Marine Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical and control teams, ensuring the design, production, and commissioning of high‑quality marine electrical systems for our wind‑assisted propulsion solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Electrical and Control Production Supervisors and Commissioning Engineers to deliver systems to the highest standards.
• Collaborate with UK engineering, Chinese suppliers, and shipyards to design power distribution, electro‑mechanical control, automation and instrumentation for Rotor Sails.
• Specify PLCs, sensors, VFDs, enclosures, cables and related components, balancing quality, cost, lead time and availability.
• Prepare, review and approve bilingual technical documentation, including drawings, bills of materials, cable schedules and testing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with marine classification societies (DNV, ABS, LR, etc.) and IEC standards, supporting product approvals.
• Provide on‑site technical support during commissioning, sea trials, handover and in‑service maintenance.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in marine electrical system development, integration and commissioning.
• Experience managing a team of electrical engineers/supervisors.
• Familiarity with shipboard power management, switchboards, diesel and shaft generators.
• Willingness to travel for ship inspections, trials and extended on‑site periods.

Required skills

• PLC programming and configuration.
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Electrical CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
• Load calculations, cable sizing and electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of IEC standards and marine classification rules.
