Senior Field Applications Scientist

About the role

Repligen is looking for a Senior Field Applications Scientist to technically support its filtration product lines in the bioprocess industry. The role uses knowledge of process development, filtration and manufacturing to support customers and the sales team before and after sales, working closely with account managers, product management, quality assurance, marketing and R&D scientists and engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the sales team and product management to give pre- and post-sales technical support, including responding to customer requests, giving technical seminars, product demonstrations and on-site or in-lab support and training
• Troubleshoot issues and help customers run voice-of-customer surveys
• Develop and execute project plans to meet customer needs with Repligen technologies, and draft detailed technical reports from customer interactions
• Share customer feedback with product management and R&D to improve products, and contribute to applications data and collateral
• Present technical posters and seminars at trade shows, WeChat events and conferences
• Support customers through the clinical pipeline from lab scale to large-scale commercial processes

Required profile

• BSc degree in a scientific discipline such as biology or biochemistry
• At least 5 years of experience in downstream purification in a development or manufacturing setting in the bioprocessing industry
• Proficiency in Chinese and English, listening, reading, writing and speaking
• Able to travel up to 70% domestically and occasionally internationally

Required skills

• Relevant experience in filtration and chromatography
• Working knowledge of scale-up/scale-down, tech transfer and cGMP requirements
• Experience with gene and cell therapy, TFF operation and column packing is a plus
• Ability to draft and execute SOPs and work instructions
