Senior Electrical Engineer – X‑Ray Systems

About the role

You will lead electrical architecture and hardware design for Philips DR (X‑ray) systems, ensuring cost‑effectiveness, quality, reliability and compliance throughout the product life‑cycle. The role combines technical ownership with cross‑functional collaboration to drive innovation and post‑market support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture, hardware design, maintenance, life‑cycle management and issue resolution for X‑ray systems.
• Own technical expertise for at least one subsystem (e.g., patient table, ceiling suspension, wall‑stand) and drive NPI, cost‑effective and innovation projects.
• Translate marketing, service, application and reliability requirements into engineering specifications and project proposals.
• Collaborate with system, geometry and global platform teams to ensure design decisions meet business demands.
• Assess and leverage the technical competence of suppliers and experts for mechanical and electronic components.

Required profile

• 8+ years of architectural/mechatronics design experience with a Bachelor degree, or 5+ years with a Master in Electrical, Electronics, Automation or related fields.
• Strong system‑architecture thinking and detailed knowledge of mechatronic and automation design.
• Experience in medical device development and familiarity with IEC 60601‑1 and IEC 60601‑1‑2 standards.
• Proven ability to work in multicultural X‑cultural teams and lead technical discussions.
• Excellent English communication skills and the capacity to work under pressure.

Required skills

• PCBA design (MCU‑based circuits, motion control, CAN, EtherCAT, peripheral interfaces).
• PCB layout and understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes.
• EMC/EMI theory and mitigation techniques.
• Embedded software development and maintenance for mainstream MCUs.
• Schematic and layout design software proficiency.
